For Dutch visual artist Roeltje van de Sande Bakhuijzen’s first coffee-table magazine on modern-day masculinity, [HU]MAN, I was invited to write a brief essay on what the notion of “being a man” ignites, irks and inspires in me.

This commissioned essay on womanhood and the female body, as perceived by an omniromantic male-identifying writer, formed the introduction to Dutch visual artist Roeltje van de Sande Bakhuijzen’s 2019 photo book on breasts in all their humanity, variety, and beautiful dignity.
